Air Canada Vacations offering Phoenix-area travel packages

Arizona’s struggling tourism sector could be getting a needed shot in the arm with the addition of several flights and package deals through Air Canada Vacations.

Metro Phoenix and several of the area’s resort properties are being featured as part of travel packages that can be booked through Air Canada Vacations. This is the first time the region has been included as a singular destination with such offerings, said Andrew Stegen, general manager of the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa.

The addition dovetails with the single existing daily Air Canada flight from Toronto to Phoenix, offering vacationers easy access to the Valley and its attractions, he said.

“For us in the tourism industry, this is huge. Air Canada is the international carrier of Canada, and Toronto is a huge hub. Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations markets to the whole country,” Stegen said. (Bizjournals.com/phoenix; July 31)
