Industry Leaders Make an Impact on Capitol Hill

Several ATA Leaders, including Chairman Jim Prueter and Lobbyist Barry Aarons, along with industry partners from the Arizona Office of Tourism, Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association, Arizona Restaurant Association and many statewide CVB’s, traveled to Washington D.C. in September for the U.S. Travel Leadership Summit. 

The group attended the conference and a joint Arizona/New Mexico Legislative Reception, as well as met with our Arizona Congressional delegates to discuss such issues including the Travel Promotion Act, Employee Free Choice Act, Santa Cruz Heritage proposal, economic impact of meetings and tourism, and other industry issues.  This annual event supports the important connection between tourism in Arizona and our elected federal leaders.
