What we do
- Inform elected officials, businesses, communities and citizens about the value that tourism has on our quality of life, its importance to economic development and the benefits created by tourism on a local, regional and statewide basis
- Educate citizen advocates to express their views on proposed laws and policies that affect tourism
- Advocate for tourism
- Maintain a continuous network of tourism committed advocates who share information and speak to leaders and elected officials in a unified voice
- Facilitate partnerships between the various stakeholder organizations that benefit from tourist
 expenditures across the public, private, and social sectors of Arizona.
- Produce, along with our tourism partners, the annual Governor's Conference on Tourism
- Gather together tourism supporters each January for a reception with Arizona legislators
What we do for Arizona
- Assist rural communities, metropolitan cities, tourism associations and the industry by advocating for their specific needs in regard to tourism
- Protect tourism promotion funding for the Arizona Office of Tourism.
For every dollar invested in the AOT’s FY04 ad campaign, Arizona recieved $20.77 in state and local taxes
- Direct travel spending in Arizona generates $2.1 billion in local, state and federal tax revenues annually - $850 per household
